1 billion Muslims on the planet but you never have a random hijabi in the background of a Western TV show or movie.
Like in the Avengers, shit goes down in NYC and not a single like, hijabi is seen running for their life too.
Supernatural is going to have 12 seasons and they literally travelled across all of the USA and they stayed at hundreds of motels and they worked with hundreds of clients at different places and not a single hijabi woman was present.
Like did you know a hijabi can work at a bank??? Or at a restaurant??? Or a hotel??? Or a coffee shop??? Or a lab???? Or even as a SHIELD agent??? such a strange concept.
No hijabis stuck in an apocalyptic situation and fighting zombies?? No hijabis getting stranded on an island with the rest of their team or friends??? Are Muslim characters confined to a specific country and specific (non-fictional usually) setting???
I think it’s so interesting that when someone asks why women can’t pray or fast during their time of the month our automatic response is “because they are not pure.” To be honest, I think this response is limited and narrow-minded. The reason women don’t pray while menstruating is because Allah SWT gave women the greatest right when it comes to their body. This right is one that men do not have, and it recognizes the pain and stress a female body undergoes every month. Allah SWT is showing us that women have a right to the biological process which contributes to sustaining life, and that it supersedes other rights such as worshiping Him through obligatory prayers or fasts. Men don’t undergo such a stress therefore they don’t have this right, and simply claiming it is due to “impurity” is not serving Allah SWT’s ultimate wisdom any justice.
After British Prime Minister David Cameron blamed ISIS recruitment on “traditionally submissive” Muslim women and mothers who don’t speak out against radical Islamism, Muslim women are firing back on Twitter. One tweet, featuring Darth Vader (really), was particularly funny and insightful.
i prayed to Allah for you
before you were mine i asked our Lord
for a woman
who would love me
for a woman
to love
in return
silly me,
even while your were here
i kept asking for you
until one day i asked Allah the right way
not, ‘bring me a woman’
but, ‘show me the women’
and i saw you
we saw each other
i prayed to Allah for you
before you were mine i asked our Lord
for a woman
who would love me
for a woman
to love
in return
lucky me,
Allah listened.
Hijab is not to prevent men from looking at women or “protect them” from men. Hijab is not for men, or to help men control themselves - it’s for women themselves, to empower women. Men in Islam have a responsibility to lower their gaze and respect a woman no matter what she is wearing or what she looks like.

Why does the hijab need to tack on the feminist label in order for it to be deemed acceptable by the west? Why do we have to frame our reasons for wearing it so they appease those non Muslims who are skeptical about it? Why do we have to turn the idea of hijab into a flavor that Westerners will easily eat up and approve?
Thank you !!!!!!!!!
Shout out to all the Muslims who have struggled with eating disorder yet still plan to participate in Ramadan this year
To those who are still in recovery and can’t do it this year for their health
To those who are unsupported by their family for their mental or physical needs this Ramadan
You are strong and Allah (swt) rewards you for every effort you make for Him and for yourself.
Ramadaan is coming in a few short weeks, and if you’re non-Muslim you can help your Muslim followers by tagging:
-profanity
-nudity
-sexual content of any kind (gifs/text/pictures etc.)
-food (some people like it tagged, others don’t care)
-other specifics that your Muslim followers ask you to tagI’ve seen “NSFR” or not safe for ramadaan used so that’s probably a good way to get everything without using 30 different tags. thank u!!!
